A two-week long advanced summer course on European Affairs.

Organized by Young European Federalists Slovenia in cooperation with the Faculty of Social Sciences (University of Ljubljana).

European Union found itself at a point where it has to face the reality of international relations, and being in the middle of the power struggle between economic and military blocks it must be able to adapt itself quickly and firmly. The challenges EU is facing are the establishment of EU as a global actor, successful enlargement and manoeuvring through institutional and policy changes that are deemed necessary by key actors in EU politics.

Brave New Europe offers an interactive course on a wide range of topics concerning mainly the EU. The 2007 edition of the Brave New Europe Summer University will focus on international relations of the European Union and its role in the international community. The summer school is composed of several modules: History, Theories, Political Process in the EU, Economics of the EU, EU and the world, European Identity, and European youth. Apart from lectures the participants will have the chance to actively debate the issues in workshops, panels and in a simulation game.

Cost of the program: 250 EUR

Participation fee covers: registration fee, tuition and study material, accommodation and full board, social activities. All living and studying costs are therefore included.

Partial reductions of participation fee can be offered. Please specify the need in a separate motivation letter.

Partial 50% travel reimbursement will be offered to all participants (full attendance required).
